Meet Tatiana French

Tatiana French is the founder, owner, and head chef of Mixt Caribbean Blends. Tatiana’s love and respect for food began at a very young age. Before the term “foodie” became common, Tatiana, like her father, was known for her love of cultural food, and like her grandfather, she had a passion and gift for cooking. As a child, she stood alongside her Haitian grandparents, learning all the traditional herbs and spices they used, absorbing every recipe like a sponge. Coming from a big blended family, Tatiana’s heritage also includes Jamaican, Dominican, Greek, and Costa Rican roots, all of which she has seamlessly incorporated into her recipes. Having traveled to many of the islands, Tatiana has been influenced by various culinary experts from all walks of life.

Tatiana’s focus on her culinary skills sharpened after college. While working for a law firm, it was her absolute joy and pleasure to create uniquely inspired dishes and serve small plates to the delight of friends and family. Encouraged by many to share her talents, her audience grew with every bite. With a natural inclination for hard work and a deep love for cooking, Tatiana, guided by faith, seized the opportunity to move to Austin and fully immerse herself in the food truck industry. Supported by her then-fiancé, now husband, and fueled by the positive feedback she received over the last decade, Tatiana boldly launched Mixt during a time of global crisis. Despite facing a steep learning curve during a difficult period, she has, by His grace, steadily grown in recognition and reputation.

Tatiana continues to thoroughly enjoy crafting dishes that satisfy her guests and please their palates. Her food is rooted in tradition, talent, and cooked with love, a fact evident in both its taste and the testimonials of those who have experienced it. It has been an absolute blessing and pleasure for her to share the best of her family traditions, combined with her passion for serving family and friends, and creating unique experiences for those who enjoy robust flavors or dare to be as adventurous as she is!
